"Days of Theft" appeals to readers because it talks about a lot of problems that still occur in today's society, This book has talked about rape, alcoholism, poverty, and domestic violence. It has not gone into any deep detail about all of these problems, but it mentions that these are problems and it occurred back then and it still occurs today.
This book also appeals to its readers by having the story told by someone who has talked to people who have gone through all of those things and experienced them first hand. The author is seeing the places the people are describing and listening to their stories. The author gives descriptions of the people and uses a lot of background knowledge and examples in his writing to make sure his audience understands what he is referring too.
